I'm Dan,

I am a self-taught fine art photographer and digital artist. My lens has been known to zero in on landscapes and sky-scapes, garden-scapes and java-scapes, urban-scapes and nature-scapes. No subject is safe from examination, documentation, re-imagining, reconstruction and reinvention from initial capture through its journey in post processing to the final print-ready digital file.

My visual art is often influenced by my background in literature and theatre but is also heavily influenced by my love of nature, wildlife, and architecture. 

I tend to work on single bodies of work one at a time but often that work leads to discoveries that spawn new work. 

Outside of my more straightforward photography (Aerial, Botanicals, Landscapes), my process is organic and experimental (Urban Musings, Elemental Reflections, Magical Realism-Surrealism; “playing” with various software, processes, and techniques to start a conversation among the subject matter, idea or concept, and myself. I try to stay out of the way as much as possible as the imagery and process play organically to lead me on a revelatory journey to the finished composition.
